“Sanjevani Social Welfare Society”, Varanasi is organizing Free Health Check up Camps with the support of “Morning Light, Switzerland” in the rural targeted areas where people are neither able to afford medical treatment nor having any basic knowledge regarding health and hygiene.
As a part of Sanjaveeni’s efforts to make basic healthcare accessible for all, these free healthcare camps are held in remote villages of the targeted area.
During free health camps a thorough check up by a Doctor, distribution of free Medicines along with specialized tests namely Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar & Haemoglobin (Hb) monitoring is done. In addition to that an Ophthalmologist/optometrist is doing Eye check up of all suspected and required cases and all school children.
Also, through these Awareness programs people are given various tips on health related issues like: Fever, cold & cough, Asthma, other Chest diseases, Anaemia, Malnutrition, Diarrhoea and Dehydration etc. and the locally available remedial measures and medicines as well. The timely intervention provides early diagnosis and treatment reducing the incidence of morbidity and mortality.
Sanjeevani also provide Health Education through various tools like Talks & Interactive Session, I.E.C. Materials, and Plays & Dramas etc. to the underprivileged that have limited information and also empower individuals with knowledge to choose healthy habits & modify their life style to reduce morbidity.
During the year 2022-2023 there is a proposal for providing relief to as many needy people through the proposed camps to be held at Sonebhadra and Varanasi districts.
